Share a Smile - Free Dentistry for Patients in Need
What Do We Do?
Once per month, Total Care Dental designates a day to the Share a Smile program. From 8:00am-1:00pm, we see new patients for initial exams, cleanings, and restorative work. Our team looks forward to our Share a Smile day and can get a lot of free dentistry done in that one morning. On this day more than ever, the team is working toward a shared goal and mission. It helps build the team up while building up our community. One of our dental assistants posted this to her Facebook page after our last Share a Smile day:
“Today my heart definitely smiled. I couldn't be more grateful to work with a team with enthusiastic, passionate people who share purpose, values and goals. Today everybody worked incredibly hard to make a serious difference in others’ lives...I couldn't be happier to work with you all!”
Where Do We Do It?
Share a Smile has partnered with the Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM) to send patients our way who are having financial hardship and are in need of dental care. As more dentists sign on, we can look at partnering with more churches, low-income housing facilities, and food pantries in the area to refer patients to the program. Our current outreach is exclusive to the Madison area, but with time and passionate effort, we’ll be able to help those in need of dental care share a smile far beyond Madison, WI.
Who Do We Serve?
We hope to serve anyone in need in the Madison area – and not just for a day. We want to make people feel like they have a dental family they belong to and a smile they can always share. We want to continue seeing patients for dental care throughout their life if needed. We only ask that if a patient’s personal finances change, they kindly give up their spot to someone else who may need help. Share a Smile welcomes everyone, whether they have dental insurance or not.

How Can I Help?
Share a Smile is looking for more dental offices to open their doors and help serve the community. Imagine if every dentist in Madison donated a day or two per year to serve! If you are interested in volunteering any time or resources, please contact us at smile@tcdmadison.com or call 608-274-1911.
At Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM), more than 40% of those they serve are children. We are able to help those kids share their smile with our dentistry outreach program. Many of the adults served by MOM are single parents, seniors, or disabled. MOM primarily assists those living within the Middleton Cross Plains School District in northwest Madison. Our goal is to continue expanding our services to help everyone share a smile.
